Dr Lenka Hlávková Memorial Fund

            The Memorial Fund was created as an expression of deep respect and gratitude for the work 

            Lenka Hlávková.

            Dr Lenka Hlávková was one of the 14 victims of the tragic event at the Faculty of Arts. He

            commented as follows: “She always knew that she wanted to pursue music: While attending pr
            started singing in the children’s choir Kvítek in Louny and soon began playing the violin.

            As Director of the Institute of Musicology, she was the soul of the department. She always

            support students. In one interview, a student reflected on how Dr Hlávková would cope with
            situation. The response was as follows: “She would always try to bring things together and
            in projects that made a difference.”


            We believe that the self-realization of students, their joint projects, and research activ
            remedy to overcome demanding situations.

            The objective of the Memorial Fund is to continue the legacy of Dr Lenka Hlávková. Every c

            who might have difficulties studying due to a tragic event in their family.

            About Dr Lenka Hlávková
            Lenka Hlávková studied musicology at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague u
            of doc. PhDr. Jaromír Černý, CSc., first as a master’s student (1993 to 1998) and then as 

            (1999 to 2004). Her lifelong specialization led her to 15th and early 16th century music i
            lands.


            In dozens of scholarly studies, conference papers, and articles published at home and abro
            managed to put the Czech lands back on the scholarly map of early modern European music an
            attractive research topic. Hand in hand with her academic work, she had also tirelessly de

            to organizational work, thanks to which she built up an extensive network of contacts for 
            throughout the European and North American continents.

            both on a professional level and in the practice of music, without which musicology would
